Sunday morning is BGMC. Bring your Buddy Barrels and your Christmas Sombrero!
Then at 3:00 we're heading back to Signature Nursing Home where the children will lead a small service as well as sing some favorite Christmas Carols.
Back to church that night @ 6:00 for the Children's Christmas Party!
Food and candy donations are welcome and very much appreciated.
It will be a day full of friends, fun, and faith. And I know we will all be blessed by it!
See you Sunday,
Ms. Heather
Sunday, December 11, 2011 What a Day!
After acting out Jesus' birth from the Scriptures we had a message about leading a life of worship.
A life of worship is a life fully devoted to God; every part of it.
The wise men set that example for us in the Bible. They spent their lives waiting and watching for the coming Messiah. And they traveled to find Him. When they found Jesus they worshipped.
Matthew 2:2
Where is the one who has been born King of the Jews? We saw his star in the east and have come to worship him.
How beautiful! Our lives should be lived in a state of constant worship for the One who came so that we may come to Him.
Sunday morning, three little ones decided they wanted to live that life of worship and follow the One.
How blessed we are each time we get to witness new birth for Christ.
And the show Sunday night was just so wonderful!
Thank you all who helped and also to those who worked with your children to help them do such a Super job!
May you be blessed,
Ms. Heather

Coming this Sunday!
In order to be ready we need to practice immediately following the morning service.
Please send a sack lunch and their costume with them to church Sunday morning.
We'll feed them lunch following our morning service and practice until 4:00.
Plan to pick them up @ 4:00 to prepare them for the show.
Bring them back dressed and ready no later than 5:30.
We would also like to serve cookies and drinks after the show Sunday evening.
If you would be willing to make a batch of cookies to help out that would be super!
Please email or message me if you plan to bring cookies.
thanks for all you do,
Ms. Heather

The children and I explored the story of Abraham and Isaac. Abraham never actually had to sacrifice his son as a burnt offering, but God did choose to sacrifice His Son..... for us.
How beautiful is His Love for us that He knew we would need help getting to heaven.
That Help is what we celebrate this season.
Every time you see the colors red and green this season think of that Help, Jesus Christ.
Think on His sacrifice, the red blood that He shed for us.
And when you see your green trimmings, think on the new life we can only obtain through belief in Him.
Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world. John 1:29
How blessed we are to be called sons and daughters of the Most High!
This is what Christmas is....acknowledging the arrival of that sacrifice and the pouring out of His love for us.
In His love,
Ms. Heather

BGMC Sunday, November 27
Did you know there are over 100 Assemblies of God churches in that tiny country?
Pray for the missionaries and the people in Cambodia to know Jesus.
Boys and Girls Missionary Challenge is the Assemblies of God Missions program for the children to be involved in World Missions through giving and prayer. And we're working hard to reach our goal of $500. All of the money the children collect goes to help buy Bibles, build churches and orphanages, and care for people around the world. We're around $50 short of the amount the children wanted to collect for the year. So over the next three weeks drop every coin into that Buddy Barrel.
If you don't have a Barrel just use an envelope or even a plastic bag.
What you put the coins in doesn't matter.
It's the work that they do that makes all the difference!
Our next BGMC day is December 18 and we'll be learning about Mexico.
So get together your Mexican hats and clothing and come prepared for a fiesta!
Adios,
Ms. Heather

What's been happening at My Church
This past Sunday we learned about keeping our eyes pure.
The eye is the lamp of the body. If we're filling up our field of vision with everything that comes our way, then at some point God gets squeezed out.
It's amazing how children of today know every in and out and nook and cranny of a video game yet they don't know much about our Creator.
How do I know? I hear them talk. The Bible says,"From the abundance of the heart does our mouth speak." WE need to be aware what we're "consuming" in our field of vision, what we're storing up in our hearts.
Our hearts need to be full of God.
Psalm 101:3 I will set before my eyes no vile thing.
Christmas practice is in full swing! We're having a great time learning our lines, painting sets, and preparing for this outreach. We'll be performing Charlie Brown's Christmas on December 11 at 6p.
So invite all your friends and family. Not involved yet? Come join us every Sunday night.
In Christ,
ms. heather

Hallelujah Halloween
Join us at our last night in the Hilton.
Dress up and bring your candy bag. You're going to need it!
As you walk around and play the games you're going to be told all about God displaying His power throught the 10 PLAGUES in Egypt.
There's even a dark room for the older kids! And the adults ;)
So come bring your friends and join us Sunday night @ 6:00.
See you there!
Sunday August 23, 2011
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.
Joshua continually walked in faith. He lead the people of Israel in faith.
Do we lead others with that same faith?
God may not be asking children to walk around walls like Jericho had.
He may not be asking them to take up arms and fight for a promised land.
But God does ask all of us to continue walking in faith.
He asks us to continue fighting spritual battles in faith.
God asks us to continue leading others to Him in faith.
Lord let our faith continue to grow and be made strong!
In Christ,
Ms. Heather

Kids Church
It's so amazing that we often forget we are all called to be leaders.
We're called to lead people to Christ.
God has called us to be strong and courageous as we do this.
God doesn't give us a spirit that is weak and fearful. He gave us a spirit that gives us power and love.
We'll be looking at the fall of Jericho this coming Sunday morning.
And on Sunday evening at 6:00, we will have a special guest missionary speaker.
The missionary will be speaking only to the children during this service and is preparing a special message just for them. We'll meet in the Children's Room for the evening service.
Love to all,
Ms. Heather

Hallelujah Halloween "10"
This will be our Hallelujah Halloween when we will hopefully minister to several hundred children.
But, we need your help! I need you to donate the candy.
From 6:00-8:00 that night we are going to host a "carnival type" event. The theme this year is the 10 Plagues. The event will have several games in which the children can win candy and small prizes. That's where I need your help.
I need 20,000 pieces of candy! I want to make sure all of the children who attend go home with some candy in their bags and God's message of love in their hearts.
You can help by bringing your candy NOW. You can bring a bag every time you come to church or you can buy in bulk and bring it all at once. Would it be easier to give money? No problem. Just put your donation in the offering plate. Just make sure it is clearly marked: "Hallelujah Halloween".
Thank you for helping with our outreach.
I pray that we will be able to share the Gospel with many families that night!
Thank you ,
Ms. Heather
Kids Compel Outreach
They plan to minister to children with their puppet ministry and to join alongside them for a children's service.
We've been praying and preparing for this event for a while and we're all very excited.
I hope you will support us in prayer as well.
If your children would like to join us, meet us there.
Ms. Heather
JBQ
We're really excited for all three teams as they have worked so hard to memorize and practice their questions and quotations.
I know they will all do a super job!
Come out and catch some of the action this Saturday in Lexington.
see you there,
Ms. Heather
BGMC Sunday, Sept 25, 2011
Our BGMC money helps to train these new pastors which God is calling into ministry. Praise God that pennies can do so much!!
The children's memory verse for this week is:
James 4:7
Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
Remember:*** BGMC is October 23 next month!

Paul wrote to the church in Corinth about these issues and they are things that Christians still deal with today.
But God gives us direction in how to deal with these sins:
The Holy Spirit makes you one in every way. So try your best to remain as one. Let peace keep you together. Ephesians 4:3
Don't forget: Next Sunday, September 25, is BGMC. Bring your Buddy Barrels!
Love to all,

1 Corinthians 12 tells us how important each part of the body is to the whole body.
And God paints a picture for us to understand this using our fleshly bodies.
But the bigger picture is the Body of Christ and how important we all are to the proper working of the body, His Church. Each child is important to God and the Church. Each adult is important to God and the Church. Please don't neglect your church attendance. It's important to God ..... and the Church.
1 Corinthians 12:27
You are the body of Christ. Each one of you is a part of it.
Love to all,
Ms. Heather

Moses and the Isrealites were all travelling the same path. They endured the same things. They followed the cloud together. Yet they were an example of two extemes.
Jude 1:5 tells us the Lord delivered His people out of Egypt, but later destroyed those who did not believe.
Belief -- that made all the difference.
We are lost without the Lord.
Guide me in your truth. Teach me. You are God my Savior. I put my hope in you all day long. Psalm 25:5
Wednesday, August 24, 2011
Sunday, August 21
In Numbers chapter 20, God told Moses to speak to a rock to get water for the complaining people of Israel. However, Moses did things his own way and struck that rock with his staff instead of speaking to it.
It's so important for our children to learn to obey the Holy Spirit's leading.
We should trust God no matter what.
Our way of doing things will NEVER be better than God's way.
Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart.
What an important lesson for us all.
NEXT WEEK: BGMC Don't forget to bring in your Buddy Barrels.

CrazyTown Sunday August 14
God punished the Isarealites for this offense on more than one occasion.
We must obey our leaders and not challenge them continuously.
When we realize that it is God who places our leaders in their positions, then we cannot argue or complain.
Our memory verse for the week:
Obey your leaders. Put yourselves under their authority. They keep watch over you.
I hope the children are applying these lessons and letting their lights shine at school!
Ms. Heather
Un-Hindered
We start with sharing our prayer needs and praises and then pray together as a large group.
We have been keeping prayer journals so we can remember to pray for each other during the week and so we can look back and see God working.
Then the children break up into their prayer groups to pray again.
The prayer groups are children they choose to meet with and share their
most personal prayer requests and praises.
Prayer is such an important part of the Christian life.
And praying for one another is a privilege.
Remember to pray with your children.
In Christ,
Ms. Heather

It's so exciting to see the children use these tools to organize a worship service for outreach.
They have been working on three songs as well as various puppet skits and one human skit for their service.
Our next goal is to seek God's direction for the message we will present.
We hope to go out into the community with this outreach service starting in September.
Please support them with your prayers.
These are truly the missionaries of Georgetown.

So far we have enough children participating to have an A-League team as well as a B-League team.
There's still room for more. So encourage your friends to join the team with you.
Contact Ms. Heather for more information about JBQ or how you can get involved.

Acts 1:11 This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.

Kids Church ........Sunday May 22
My Father will honor the one who serves me. John 12:26
And there's only one way to serve God. We have to keep our eyes on Him alone. In the last part of John chapter 21 Peter once again is following Jesus, but he turns around and looks back at John. Then Peter questions Jesus about why John is following too. Jesus immediately corrects Peter. Jesus says, "...what is that to you? You must follow me."
That same message is for us. We must keep our eyes on the Lord and follow Him. Don't become sidetracked by looking around to others. Let's train our children to focus on God alone so their paths may be directed by Him and His purpose fulfilled.
Don't forget this Sunday, May 29 is BGMC, Boys and Girls Missionary Challenge. Bring all of your coins and dollars to add with ours and we'll help get some more orphanages built and Bibles printed. Praise God for an opportunity to touch lives across the world!
If you would like your BGMC offering to go to Convoy of Hope as they help tornado victims in the US simply mark Convoy of Hope on your envelope or send a note with the Buddy Barrel.
I'll see you Sunday for BGMC,

This morning during Un-Hindered we started our Puppet Practice. These kids are gearing up to minister to children in the park this summer. We're so excited!

This is fun way for the children to witness :)
We meet again Sunday morning at 9:30.
I hope to see you there :)
Ms. Heather

Sunday, May 15
Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen me but still have believed."
We know we are blessed, but what about the "doubters"? They may need to "see" Jesus in order to believe. My prayer is that they would see Jesus in us all the time.
Next week during Un-Hindered we will be working on a ministry activity so we can take Jesus to the people. I look forward to seeing you at 9:30 for prayer and Un-Hindered.
and don't forget: BGMC is on May 29.
If you have not turned your boxes in, this would be the time to bring them.
So continue to save your coins and bring them in for the missionaries on May 29!

Mother's Day
During church we learned about six different mothers in the Bible. And we talked about our role as Christians towards our mothers. God expects us to CONTINUALLY honor our mothers. I hope more than anything this is something that sinks in deep and takes root, because a child is known by his actions. He is known by whether his conduct is pure and right.
May their conduct always be pure and right.

Easter can be celebrated all year
In Un-Hindered yesterday we talked about being still before the Lord. We all pitched in to do a good work for Easter Exteme, but now it is time for us to let the Lord work on the seeds that were planted. We prayer walked our church room asking God to do a good work for the people who would be seated there.
During Church time we focused on being trapped by sin and how only God has the power to un-trap us. He not only un-traps us, but he gives us new life. These are blessings that can be celebrated every day!
Have a great week everyone!
Remember * Big changes coming next week :)
see you then,
Ms. Heather

Lots going on
This past Sunday morning we took communion together during Un-Hindered and talked of Jesus' last supper before His crucifixion.
During church we spent time in prayer just as Jesus did in the Garden of Gethsemane. So much of our lives we face unprepared; without prayer. Prayer is the preparation for everything. I hope the children remain in a state of preparation - prayer.
Please continue to pray for our Easter Exteme Event. Pray for good weather and many souls to be saved and softened. Praise God for a Glory-filled day!
I'll see you Saturday. Wear your My Church shirts and bring your smile :)

Just a reminder
Just a reminder we're going to Dover tomorrow. Please be there at 1:50.
Children: make sure you have your Cross pictures, drawings, or art work with you.
We're going to give them to the residents there.
See you tomorrow morning,
Ms. Heather

Sunday past
The children were encouraged to "walk" with God as Noah did. We practiced walking with our friends to illustrate this point. Walking with God takes constant fellowship with Him. What a privilege we have.
In Church we looked into the Parable of the Sower. What a personal message this is for us. We can only see the outside of a person, but God looks at the heart. We must sow, wherever we go!
Ms. Heather
Mark your calendars !
Sunday, April 10
Please arrive by 1:50 p.m.
Service starts at 2:00
Our date has been secured and we're heading to Dover to minister to the residents and their families.
The children are preparing a church service for that day. So expect worship, prayer, and Bible reading.
We're really excited about another opportunity to be a light.
thanks for allowing your children to stretch their wings and be ministers of the Gospel,
Ms. Heather

Ministry Opportunity
Once again we have been invited to minister to the residents of Signature
nursing home and Dover Nursing home.
This time the children will present a church service instead of a play. We have
already talked about this in our Un-Hindered meetings and Children's Church.
They're excited and I am too.
Easter is On April 24 this year. The two Sundays before this are both available
for us to visit the nursing homes.
I realize this is a very busy time as we all spend time with family and honor
previous commitments.
This is a completely voluntary activity. However, I need to know if we have any
interested in participating and what dates you want to go.
The available dates are Sunday, April 10 or Sunday, April 17. I believe around
2 or 3 p.m.
Please email me this week and let me know whether you will or will not be
participating.
I also need to know which day you would like. You can choose both.
Thanks everyone,
Ms. Heather

Today in Church
Thank you Ms. Kim for the good job you're doing!
We talked about what God knows this morning in Un-Hindered. The children are seeking God's direction for their ministry. We will be going out shortly to minister to the nursing home again. God has a specific ministry plan for each individual in the church body; children too.
When we come together next week during our Un-Hindered class at 9:30 we'll be talking about the Power that God gives us to do this ministry work. We never want to work in our power only in His.
Would you pray for your children to realize His power and to seek it, which is the Holy Spirit.
I will be. And I'll see you Sunday!

BGMC
Last week the children were given Buddy Barrels. These little yellow barrels are used for collecting money all month long at home. Then once a month on BGMC days the children should bring their barrels in and give the money to be used by the Assembly of God missionaries.
The money is used to buy Bibles and fund Royal Ranger programs, open orphanages, and build churches. And the children are responsible for all of these good things!
We keep careful record of money given and award pins of recognition for reaching certain milestones. This is done just as an incentive and bears no reflection on the main incentive: giving sacrificially to missions.
Ms. Kim also has a special lesson prepared on these days to share what the money is doing around the world.
So I hope to see lots of yellow Buddy Barrels tomorrow.
Last week we talked of the "one opportunity". Don't miss your chance to help others know of God's great love for them.
AND DON'T FORGET~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We will have Un-Hindered at 9:30 tomorrow morning. We'll be praying for our brothers and sisters who will be baptized tomorrow. We'll also talk about baptism. I look forward to seeing you :)

I Praise God!
In church we talked about that Great Banquet in Luke 14. We're the ones supposed to go out and "invite" others in. It's our job to ask people to church and tell them of Jesus' love for them.
We also talked of another Banquet: the Wedding Supper of the Lamb.
More were added to His kingdom this morning. And I Praise God!!

Hello Everyone
We're focusing a lot on prayer and our prayer groups right now. This is so important to the foundations being built in these lives. I hope prayer is a priority in all of our homes.
In Church today we visited the parable of the Prodigal Son. You know it's never too late for us to "come Home" to our Heavenly Father. I hope your children are experiencing Him daily and spending time with Him.
We also talked about our responsibility to point people in His direction. Some people don't know where home is or how to get there. It's our job to show them. And pray for them. And we did!
He desires for everyone to "come home".
I hope to see you all tonight at My Church!
Ms. Heather :)

Just back from Compel
There is no greater witness than a parent leading a child in the way he/she should go! :)
Tomorrow join Pastor Landon @ 9:30 for prayer and Un-Hindered right after. We'll be looking at the example Peter sets for all of us. Bring your journals and notebooks and of course your Bible.
Children's service tomorrow will be BGMC. Join Ms. Kim as she leads you in prayer for Afghanistan and teaches you about the people there. Bring those Buddy Barrels.
See you at My Church,
Ms. Heather

I just have to share!
In Un-Hindered we talked about the importance of prayer and formed our prayer teams and PRAYED.
Remind your children to record God's answers to their prayers this week. We are all strengthened through faithful witnesses.
Join us on Sunday mornings at 9:30.
We're un-hindering our walk with Jesus.

Today we will start out by forming our prayer teams and really learning about the importance of prayer. Un-Hindered will be a great class for all. I hope the children are as excited as I am! I hear we have a special visitor coming?
In church we'll dig into the Parable of the Talents from Matthew 25. What is this saying to all of us? You may think this is just a parable for your child to learn now and use later, not so. God gives gifts to ALL His children to use NOW.
We'll start praying about these gifts and looking for ways to serve God outside the walls of My Church. Will you join us?
Hoping to be found faithful,
Ms. Heather

Un-Hindered
And right after that join me as we start a new ministry, Un-Hindered.
This will be a time for the children to come to together and learn to remove the hindrances that keeps us all from a close relationship with God.
We'll also learn to remove hindrances that keep us from following the Holy Spirit's leadings, hindrances that keep us from sharing the Gospel, and hindrances that keep us from being the church.
Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these. Matt. 19:14
I'll see you Sunday morning for our first meeting. ;)

Sunday, January 16
Today in Children's Church we studied the parable Jesus told about the Unforgiving Servant found in Matthew 18. It's so easy for us to let bitterness set in because we refuse to show mercy to someone.
The children understand that forgiveness is a choice, but sometimes it's so hard to make that choice. Help them pray through things that may be bothering them this week.
Remind them of their memory verse: If you forgive those who sin against you, your Heavenly Father will forgive you. Matt. 6:14
Can you be a light to someone who is holding on to unforgiveness?
Keep shining brightly,
Ms. Heather

Our blog is finally here!
I'm excited to be up and running. This blog will be the outlet to connect you to the inner happenings at My Church. The children's ministries are ever busy preparing lessons, outreach, and worship opportunities.
Now we have a place to come and share those with you! Check back often and look for updates on Rangers, MPact girls, and Children's Church.

In My Children's Church This week:
Last Sunday we learned that God gives us wisdom if we will only ask. This week the children have been challenged to read the Proverbs. Some will be able to only read one verse a day, and others will read more. Being read to counts also. :) There will be a prize for all who have worked on the challenge this week.
So help your children out and encourage them to pick up their Bibles and dig into Proverbs. You could also read Proverbs as a family. Just read from the book of Proverbs before you leave the dinner table each evening.
Extend the challenge and read a chapter each day for a month!
I'll see you Sunday morning.
Don't forget your Bibles!
Ms. Heather
